Your healthcare provider may instruct different dosages of Adderall? (also known by its chemical names amphetamine and dextroamphetamine) depending on the following criteria:
As a necessary medical pre-caution, we do not recommend any alteration to your dose except in accordance with the instructions of your healthcare provider.
Dispense Adderall with care if you child is between the ages of 3 and 5. The recommended dosage to start is 2.5 mg daily. If your child’s condition warrants it, this can be increased by weekly increments of 2.5 mg (for daily use).
You can safely administer 5 mg of Adderall when your child is 6 years or older, with a frequency of no more than twice a day. You can incrementally add up to 5 mg every week if required, although it is advisable to keep the total dosage of Adderall to less than 40 mg in any single day. Your child should have his or her first dose immediately after waking up. If more rounds (we recommend no more than 3 in a day) of Adderall are required, make sure it is done only after a span of 4 to 6 hours.
The optimum range of Adderall dosage for adults with narcolepsy is between 5 mg and 60 mg daily (the amount is to be spread out over 2 or 3 doses).
If you have a child with narcolepsy who is currently between the ages of six and twelve, we suggest that you get your child started with a 5 mg daily (with weekly increments of 5 mg if it is deemed necessary). If your kid happens to be 12 years or older, then the right dose to get started with is 10 mg daily (in this case, an increment of 10 mg weekly is allowable when necessary).
If you are (or any of your family members is) on Adderall, pay attention to the followings:
To ensure proper Adderall dosage, always approach your doctor, nurse or pharmacist if you have any questions about Adderall.
